Fishing
Fishing is to stags what spas are to hens. It's a chance to kick back, forget about wedding planning and rediscover the old primal hunting instinct. Crack open a few beers and have a bash at catching rainbow and brown trout. A combination of luck and skill could see you land one of the 15lb bad boys that occupy these waters.
Located just outside Newcastle, this rural site is a popular spot with locals and is regarded as one of the finest fishing lakes in the whole of Northumberland. Beginners, intermediates and old hands are equally welcome. Get your stag party prepared in advance for a proper day in the fresh air, remember old times and watching the world go by. When Old Zeke finally bites, it'll be time to spring into action.
Spend the day chewing the fat, reminiscing about the one that got away and bragging about your big catch. The fish, we mean. Don't let your bride to be hear anything about big catches, or you'll catch hell for making her feel fat.
Bait is available at the site lodge, along with hot drinks and snacks. Tell the other guys in the stag party to bring their own fishing rods and equipment to Newcastle. Silly hats are optional, but then it would be a bit daft not to.
